Who it is for
Chambers of commerce
A chamber is a membership organisation that runs on meetings, introductions and a sense that local business sticks together. For a smaller or newer chamber, NetworkingBadger covers most of what that takes. For a larger one with public events and a CRM already, read the section on what it does not do first.
What fits
- Sections and committees as groups. A town section, a sector group, a young professionals group, each with its own members, meetings and leader, and one view of the chamber for you.
- A private member directory. Members find each other by business, trade and what they are looking for. Contact details are shared only when both people agree to an introduction.
- Member meetings. Breakfasts, lunches and section meetings with booking, a waiting list, reminders and attendance.
- Visitors who become members. Prospective members come as guests, say what they are happy to hear about, and are followed up afterwards, with credit to the member who invited them.
- Renewals chased for you. Monthly, quarterly or annual memberships side by side, with reminders before each one falls due. Members pay the chamber directly.
- Your name on it. The member app carries the chamber name, logo and colours, at your own address, and members use it in their browser with nothing to download.
What it does not do
Better to know now:
- It does not sell tickets or take payments. If your events are sold to the public, or your members pay by card through your website, you will still need something for that. NetworkingBadger records what members have paid you; it never collects it.
- There is no public business directory. The member directory is private to members. If publishing members on your website matters, keep that where it is.
- It is not a CRM. Sponsorship pipelines, policy work, export documentation and training bookings are outside what it does.
- Pricing is per active member. £1.50 a member a month works when membership fees are a few hundred pounds a year. If yours are much lower, the sums may not work, and we would rather you knew.
Where it works best
A new chamber, a small one run by volunteers, or a chamber whose member meetings are the heart of it and currently live in a spreadsheet and an inbox. Also a larger chamber that wants a proper member community for its sections alongside the systems it already has.
The pricing page shows the exact cost, and the comparison page sets out honestly how it differs from general membership software. If you are not sure, tell us how your chamber runs and we will say straight whether it fits.
